Sushi Blue started with a simple idea: make incredible sushi and Asian-fusion in a space that feels upbeat, modern, and genuinely kind. We’re a small, family-run team from Livonia with more than two decades in restaurants, including prior roles creating popular restaurants like The Sushi Bar in Taylor and a Korean Pocha Gastro Pub in Ann Arbor.

Our chef and co-founder James brings inspiration from his 20+ years as a master sushi chef sharing his experiences from Manhattan to Hawaii—two places that shaped his love for bright, creative flavors. He’s known for menus that make your taste buds happy: clean technique, quality ingredients, and just enough playful flair to keep things exciting. Co-founder Jamie is our operations manager and the engine behind the experience. From designing the space and building the website to hiring, training, and setting our service standards, Jamie turns big ideas into smooth daily service. She writes the playbooks, coaches the team with kindness and accountability, and leads community engagement—from partnerships with local schools to our kids’ collectible cards where a portion of proceeds supports a Livonia family in need during the holidays.
